Finding Books About Spanish-Related Topics

The UNG Libraries offer thousands of books and ebooks about Spanish and Latino studies. Try a keyword search like "spanish history" or "latino fiction" or "economía" in the GIL-Find catalog.

In addition to keyword searching, you can also find books through formal subject headings. When you find a book that's relevant to your topic, look at the list of subject headings.

You can also use Spanish keywords, like poesía instead of poetry, to find books written at least partially in Spanish.

Finding Books Outside the UNG Libraries

The UNG Libraries can help you get the books you need, even if we don't own the book.

GIL Express: You can request print books from any school in the University System of Georgia. This free service delivers books to any campus you prefer. Search the GIL Find Universal Catalog just as you would search UNG's GIL Find catalog. When you find a book you want, click "Please log in to enable GIL Express requests."

Interlibrary Loan: If the book you need is not available through GIL Express, try Interlibrary Loan

HathiTrust: Search millions of books digitized by libraries around the world.

If you think the UNG Libraries should own a specific item, you can fill out a Purchase Recommendation form. You can also contact Emily Thornton, the library selector for Spanish, to discuss lists or general topics that should be supported.
